      <title><![CDATA["A Christmas Carol" at the Top Hat in December]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[Tickets are still availabale for our annual fundraiser at the Top Hat Theater on Sunday, December 14th at 3 p.m. This year's play is a dramatization with added music of Charles Dickens's "A Christmas Carol " A reception will be held for our members after the performance. 
 The Top Hat is at 3110 E. Ft Lowell. Tickets are $20 and will be available at our November 17th meeting or by mail. Make out your check to and mail it to: Saguaro Eastside Democratic Club, PO Box 40211, Tucson AZ 85717. (Please include your name, address, occupation and employer or retired--for AZ state reporting purposes.)]]></description>

      <title><![CDATA[Where do we go from here?]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[Vince Rabago, Pima County Democratic chair, will be the featured speaker at our November meeting. He will present his thoughts on the election and discuss "Where do we go from here? The meeting will be held as usual at the New Spirit Lutheran Church, 8701 Old Spanish Trail (at the northeast corner at Camino Seco) on Monday November 17th. We begin at 6:30 with light refreshments and time for socializing, with the program beginning at 7 p.m. All meetings of SED are free and open to the general public. For further information, call 850-6755.]]></description>

      <title><![CDATA[Rosemont Mine and Dem. Conv. Reports]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[Kyle Dignoti, a high school student who observed the convention as part of a national program, reported on what he saw, heard and did during the four day convention.

Following his presentation, activist Gayle Hartmann offered a comprehensive look at what is happening down in the Santa Rita Mountains concerning the proposed new mining operation.

Following this, we held a business meeting at which the new bylaws were presented to the membership. Also, representatives of various campaign groups made pleas for assistance.]]></description>

      <title><![CDATA[Ballot Propositions]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[About 50 people attended our open meeting on Monday, August 18, in which the audience reviewed the many propositions that were under consideration for the November ballot. Roger White moderated the interesting event.

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords attended the social meeting prior to the formal program. As there were so many people in attendance, she also spoke to the group as a whole and took several questions.
