6th Annual I Love Liberty Party (Club Events)
Celebrate liberty, George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays, Valentine's Day, and Arizona Statehood Day at our annual "I Love Liberty" Party at Bob and Shelley Schwartz's home. Sunday, February 14th, 1-4:30 p.m.. Meet and greet elected officials and candidates for this year's elections as well as your fellow Democrats. Free. Please bring an appetizer or dessert. Andrei Cherny, Candidate for State Treasurer and SED Annual Meeting (Club Events)
ANDREI CHERNY SPEAKS TO EASTSIDE DEMOCRATS Andrei Cherny, Democratic candidate for Arizona State Treasurer, was the guest speaker at the Saguaro Eastside Democrats (SED) meeting on Monday, January 18, 2010, followed by a short annual meeting to elect 2010's officers. Cherny talked about his candidacy and the need to invest in Arizona's future to create jobs and make Arizona "The Solar State". Cherny is a former Arizona Assistant Attorney General and a nationally recognized authority on public policy. The founder and co-editor of Democracy: A Journal of Ideas, Cherny is also a contributor to a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Huffington Post and the New Republic. 2010 officers were elected at the business meeting. Pickwick Papers, December Fundraiser/meeting (Club Events)
On December 13th, 2009, SED hosted The Top Hat Theater and its version of Charles Dickens's The Pickwick Papers. Refreshments, and a social time including seasonal music followed.
